A NOTE ON NATURAL DYE
Beauty in impermanence
Natural dyes do not perform like synthetic ones. It's of my opinion that this is the charm and beauty of botanical dyes. They wear out over time as we do. At Hunter Made, our approach to dyeing is rooted in circular making and a deep appreciation for the natural world. That's why we choose to use plants with natural tannins like eucalyptus, pomegranate, and avocado seeds, which not only lend their vibrant hues to our creations but also offer longer-lasting colour fastness. Additionally, we work with an array of flower and tea dyes, each with their own unique durability, adding to the charm and beauty of our botanical dyes. Much like the passing of time, our dyed pieces gracefully wear out over time, creating a truly lived-in aesthetic. To preserve the natural beauty of your garments, we suggest washing them sparingly, drying them in the gentle shade, and storing them away from natural light when not in use. At Hunter Made, we believe that with proper care, your naturally dyed pieces will age gracefully alongside you.

The underpinning philosophy behind HunterMade is circular design. Phoebe wanted to create in a way that worked in harmony with the natural world, rather than against it, resulting in an immense amount of thought and intention behind her work. Making use of what already exists.
At HunterMade, we are dedicated to ecological stability, the community we are a part of, by leaning into closed loop practices, small batch production, and the ideals of local economies. We believe that we are all an integral part of the cycle.
Our collections are inspired by what is available to us throughout the seasons. We harvest flowers from our own gardens and regularly collaborate with local businesses, such as florists, to recycle floral and organic materials that would otherwise go to waste.
