Founder Story

HunterMade founder, Phoebe Hunter, is an environmentally conscious artist, innately drawn to the concepts of circularity and sustainability, exploring the convergence of existing materials to create her ethereal textiles.

Phoebe had a fluid childhood, growing up in rural and coastal towns across South Australia and Northern Territory. Rooted in creativity and touched by nature, abstract thinking was always encouraged by her parents. Her father, a poet and artist and mother, who ran a native plant nursery.

In more recent years, Phoebe graduated with a BA in Visual Arts, with additional TAFE studies in business and fashion, which offered a brief introduction to natural dyeing. Delighted by the complexity and intuitive nature of the craft, she continued to explore nature as a medium in her home studio and has almost finished her diploma in Sustainability.

Now, together with her team, Phoebe shares her cobbled together knolwdge while creating plant infused textiles and earthly bodies of work.

Alchemy of the old world…

Botanically infused textiles and artistry, honouring the natural world and organic transience of the seasons.

HunterMade was founded with a deep mutual respect for Mother Nature and the belief that true reverence for the environment can be manifested in the way we explore art with intention. Embracing the concept of circularity, we conjure beauty out of what already exists using natural materials such as leaves, flowers, charcoal, raw pigments, and wood.

Our small team is blessed to create sustainably on Kaurna Country in Adelaide, South Australia.

A resurgence of old into new. The essence of plants reborn.

At HunterMade, we create floral infused textiles and artistry, working in harmony with nature to minimise our impact, utilise what already exists and share that knowledge with our community.

Awakening an environmental consciousness.

At HunterMade, we are dedicated to working harmoniously with nature, and the community we are a part of, by leaning into closed loop practices, small batch production, and the ideals of local economies. We believe in the impact of our environmental consciousness and know that we are all an integral part of the cycle.

Our collections are inspired by what is available to us throughout the seasons. We harvest flowers from our own gardens and regularly collaborate with local businesses, such as florists, to recycle floral and organic materials that would otherwise go to waste.

Human beings are nature and tapping into that connection yields true magic.

Botanical infused artistry. A divine beauty from decay.
